Hi Paula, I am new here, joining from California, and absolutely in love with your classes. Thank you so much for this 30-day sequence which has gotten me back to a regular yoga practice for the first time in years. In the supine figure four, I feel the stretch intensely all the way from my outer hip along the outer thigh to my knee. Is that my IT band? It’s very effective and quite intense, so I want to be sure I’m doing it right.

Hi Sarah, welcome and thank you for being here! I'm really glad the 30-day challenge is supporting you to return to a regular practice - well done. It sounds like you are targeting the right area as the figure 4 stretch works through the outer hips (glutes) which the IT band is connected to. The way this feels for individuals can vary slightly depending on what's happening for you and areas of tightness, so unless there is sharp pain and you are finding that it provides relief, it sounds like it is beneficial for you. Hope that helps xx
